About Accelerate2030 

Accelerate2030 is a global program with a mission to scale the impact of entrepreneurs working to advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Accelerate2030 was co-initiated by UNDP and Impact Hub in 2016, and to date 26 Impact Hubs across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America, have collaborated together to implement the program. In this period we have tested and validated a model to identify entrepreneurs contributing to the SDGs and connect them with the support and networks needed in order to scale their impact. The program builds a pioneering ecosystem for scaling the most innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing social and environmental problems.

Program Objectives

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 SDGs provide a global framework across all sectors to implement smart, innovative, and sustainable solutions for the planet and its inhabitants.

We believe entrepreneurs can play a major role in bringing forward these unconventional solutions to the world’s increasingly complex and critical challenges. However, to do this, they do not only need a favourable and enabling ecosystem to thrive, they also need access to specific support and networks in their in their journey to scale.

In the face of the COVID-19 crisis and its economic aftermath, social innovation will be needed more than ever, as a process of developing and deploying effective solutions to challenging and often systemic social and environmental issues in support of social and economic progress. 

Through Accelerate2030, Impact Hub, UNDP and partners aim to: 

  1. Increase awareness and promote the implementation of entrepreneurial solutions for the SDGs globally
  2. Provide support to entrepreneurs with tested, SDG-focused solutions to scale their impact globally
  3. Foster meaningful collaborations and contribute to the development of thriving ecosystems for entrepreneurial actions towards the SDGs

Our Philosophy

In a world that is often driven by unsustainable growth, we need to explore models of scaling that are sustainable for the individual, the organisation and for the planet as a whole. Accelerate2030 scaling framework is built on these three different levels:

  • Sustainable You: Personal leadership and resilience, connection to personal purpose, personal growth, adopting a ‘scaling mindset’.

  • Sustainable Organisation:Identifying sustainable and effective scaling models that are aligned with the team and organisation, organisational resilience, management, processes and procedures etc.

  • Sustainable Society: Creating collaborations and partnerships for impact, and the resulting societal and environmental impact created towards the achievement of the SDGs.

We believe that large-scale change happens through partnerships and collaborations. A key component of Accelerate2030 is the establishment of a strong stakeholder system supporting the implementation of the program. This includes, but is not limited to the United Nations, the public sector, relevant consultancies, companies, financing institutions, impact investors and civil society.
